Polished concrete is produced by mechanically grinding the concrete surface using diamonds to reveal or expose the aggregate within the concrete substrate.
Both new and existing concrete substrates can be mechanically ground to reveal partial exposure of the aggregate (only achievable if the substrate is suitable for this finish) or full exposure of the aggregate. By then mechanically polishing with progressively finer diamonds it will produce a polished glossy floor finish. Alternatively, a polyurethane coating can be applied to the surface to seal and protect the concrete floor.
